About the Role
The Team Leader Financial Planning & Business Partnering
position is a critical role in helping to enable council to deliver exceptional services to the community of Central Coast. You would be joining Council at an incredibly exciting time. The role is responsible for providing efficient and effective financial partnering to internal stakeholders, providing clear visibility of financial performance and assisting to educate and support stakeholders to improve financial acumen and financial outcomes.
Key responsibilities of the role include providing day to day operational leadership to a high performing team of professionals. You will lead the on-time delivery of financial inputs into Council’s annual Operational Plan, four-year Delivery Program and Long-term Financial Plan, including operating and capital financial estimates.
A crucial element of this role is driving continuous improvement and accuracy in budgeting, as well as assisting the organisation to zero based budgeting methodology, and providing education on a longer-term planning approach.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with proven experience in a similar role within Local Government or working within large and complex organisations and leading professional teams. You will also have proven experience in financial modelling and analysis and the ability to interpret financial information into recommendations to support business analysis and decision making. In additional, you will have tertiary qualifications in finance, accounting, a relevant field or demonstrated solid experience in a similar role.
As would be expected, strong communication skills are a must together with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate across the organisation to build strong relationships to drive outcomes that add value to the organisation and community.
