I’m recruiting a Project Officer – Communications (APS6 level) for a federal government entity in the Sydney CBD. The position is available for a period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
   
The Assignment
  • Role Title: Project Officer, Communications
  • Working for a Federal Government entity
  • Based in the CBD, with a flexible working arrangement (2 days WFH per week)
  • Initial 6-month contract, with the possibility of extension
  • Paying $60-70ph + super (APS6 level)
   
The Communications Project Officer will work across several functions in relation to corporate, internal and external communications within a small team, and is responsible for:
  • coordinating workflow and providing administrative support for the Communications team to facilitate the dissemination of information, resources and publications to external stakeholders.
  • developing and delivering high quality, engaging and target audience specific content related to the organisations program areas, across a range of print and digital platforms, including the intranet, social media, electronic direct mail and the website. It also supports internal communications including the staff newsletter.
  • being the central point of contact for the Communications team, including monitoring and responding to queries received via the Communications email inbox.
  • providing general and finance administration support to the team, including processing invoices, requesting quotes, preparing contracts, producing reports, managing copyright and permission requests, arranging meetings and maintaining databases.
  
This is a multi-faceted role, requiring flexibility, adaptability, and strong organisational skills to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks.
  
Criteria
To be considered you MUST have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Media, Journalism, Marketing or similar.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in the delivery of communications projects, materials and activities across a range of corporate functions, particularly on digital platforms
  • High level skills in written content across a number of formats including intranet, web content, social media posts, EDMs and newsletters.
  • High level skills in use of digital tools and content management systems including SharePoint, EDM applications and TRIM.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple competing deadlines
