PROJECT DIRECTOR, MELBOURNE
Capstone has partnered with QIC to recruit this senior and integral role within the Melbourne Asset Creation team. This newly created role is responsible for the full lifecycle development of two major shopping centres and their surrounds currently with a combined value of over $2bn.

Position Overview
Reporting to the General Manager, Investment Management, you will be the key decision maker in formulating and recommending the strategic Asset Plans for your development portfolio, encompassing the development master plan and its implementation. You play a vital role in the creation of innovative and desirable destinations for community enjoyment.
The two shopping centre assets are located in rapidly growing areas of Melbourne with significant development opportunities to be identified and realised. Your focus will be on the redevelopment of the retail centres as well as the identification and subsequent development of the surrounding areas over time which will include office, hotel, residential and leisure development opportunities.
You will work closely with the leasing and centre management teams to provide best in class customer experience and innovation in design and delivery.
Key Accountabilities
-Detailing a long term development master plan strategy to maximise returns and minimise risk for each asset, identifying all development opportunities – retail and other
-Management of business planning and physical planning, ensuring a well-developed consensus and approval process to deliver outputs
-Strategic identification of acquisition opportunities
-Preparation of funding requirements to progress resolution of development and acquisition opportunities
-Development of the economic, social, environmental and risk management frameworks for identified development opportunities
-Selection and appointment of consultant teams for the design and delivery of projects
-Oversight of construction and tenancy co-ordination
Key Capability Requirements
To be successful in this role you will be a proven leader with a broad background in retail development, ideally having achieved success previously in the ‘front end’ phase of the development cycle, though also ideally having had exposure to the construction delivery of large scale shopping centres.
